I recently bought something and ended up with this cardboard box that I thought was the perfect size for a homemade jewelry box.
I wanted to make something functional but decorative to display my favorite necklaces.
First I covered the entire outside box in some leftover fabric scraps.
Then I cut a fun picture from a magazine and painted over it to contrast the abstract fabric pattern on the front of the jewelry box. (Yes that is totally red glitter on her lips!)
Next I used some recycled cardboard to create a little decorative frame for a mirror and attached it to the front.
I lined the inside of the box with some colorful paper that I recycled from my tea purchase at Kusmi tea and a recycled leopard print paper bag.
I used a found branch to hang the jewelry and the inside was complete!
And le final product:
This was a super fun and inexpensive way to dress up an old cardboard box and have a beautiful way to display all my jewelry, I hope you give it a try
